When you already have a data set for which you want to collect data, you can pre-load this data in the Registration survey. There are two ways to do this, you can fill in Registration surveys, just as you would do in the app or you can copy and paste data from Excel to the system. This tutorial will show how this can de done.
Pre-loading data in the Registration survey can be done by filling the Registration survey. To do this, select in the menu Edit registration under EDIT DATA , this will open a grid with all the registration data as shown in figure 1:
Figure 1, Edit registration data grid.
To add a new Registration survey click the New Row button, this will open a new Registration Survey form which will be sumitted when finalised. To edit a Survey registration, select a row in the grid and click the Edit Row button.
Pre-loading data in the Registration survey can also be done by copying and pasting data from Excel. The maximum number of rows per upload is 500, so for 1000 rows you need to do two upload. Copying and pasting of data can only be done for the survey questions types Single Input, Radio group, Data tables and GPS postion. To avoid uploading dublicates values you can set the unique value in the properties settings for a question.
To copy and paste Excel data, select in the menu Upload registration under UPLOAD DATA. This will open the grid with all the registration data as shown in figure 2.

When you click the Add row button a new empty row is added to the grid, as can be seen figure 2. You can now copy and paste values for the questions Name, Tel, Gender and Address. Because the values for the Company question were not pasted into the grid you need to set these values in the grid, this can be done by dragging values down the row. Note the red colored fields in the grid, these are compulsory fields because the questions for these fields are set in the Registration survey to is required. In this example we copy and paste from Excel the values for the Name, tel, Gender and Address, see figure 3 where the required cells are selected. To copy the cells press ctrl C.

To paste the selected data to the grid, select the cell in the empty row (row 4) and name column, and press ctrl V to paste the data in the grid. The result is shown in figure 4.

The next step is to fill in the values for the Registration questions in the Company column. To do this, select the cell in row 3 of the Company column and drag the value down, the result is shown in figure 5.
