Each survey needs at least one registration table to link the registration data to the mobile users through the mobile user groups. When you create a registration table it will show as a select question in the registration survey. How the registration tables and mobile user groups are used is best explained by looking at some examples:
When all mobile users need to see and access the same data, you can achieve this by creating one Registration table with one value. In this example we create the registration table Company and give it one value: Denkami. As can be seen in the graph below, each Registration survey has for the Company question the value Denkami. We then link the Registration survey to the mobile user group by selecting the Company table and the value Denkami in the mobile user group. This will ensure that each registration surveys is linked to the mobile user group:
Lets expand on the previous example and define a scenario whereby mobile users should only see and access only their own data. In that case we can still use one table with a value for each user. Lets assume we have 3 mobile users, who all manage a warehouse, we call them North, South and Central. In this scenario we create a registration table called warehouse with the values North, South and Central, see below.
In this example we introduce a hierarchy for the mobile users, with one supervisor who can access all data and field staff who are all responsible for collecting data from farmers in their province. For the registration of farmers we need to know in which province and in which district they are, for this we create the data structure as shown below. By creating the three registration tables, we can register the location for the farmers and allocate the data from each province to the field staff and allocate all data to the supervisor.
